Curb Appeal – How Does Your Home Stack Up?
Once again – you only get one chance to make a good first impression. I can’t say that enough.
Take a good, critical look at your home. Many Realtors park in the street so that people can see the house and walk to the door. As they’re walking, what are they walking on? Is the driveway in good condition? How about the sidewalk to the door? Is the concrete cracked? Does it need power washing?
What about the door? Is it dented or in need of a paint job? Are there cobwebs all over? Many people don’t use the front door, just the garage, and don’t ever notice the condition.
Speaking of the garage, what condition are the garage doors in? Both the front door and the garage door(s), if not in great shape, are investments that have a great return at resale time.
Is there are trace of green mold on the outside of the home> If yes – it needs a power washing.
What is the landscaping like? Is it neat and trim with colorful flower? Or is it overgrown and full of weeds?
Next – look at the landscaping on both sides of the home. Is there actually anything there? If yes, again, neat and clean? Then consider the back yard. Is it an inviting place you would like to spend time in and entertain friends?
Putting some money and effort into making the exterior of the house look good is an investment that prospective buyers will notice.
