Equestra at Colts Neck Crossing is an Active Adult, Over 55 community. From it’s convenient location in Howell / Farmingdale, NJ, in Monmouth County, this active adult community offers easy access to major transportation routes and the Jersey Shore.  Since there’s a homeowners association, there’s also a monthly HOA fee. However, the monthly maintenance fee includes lawn maintenance and snow removal, consequently, you don’t have to. Furthermore, the association is responsible for trash and recycling pickup, common area maintenance and provides use of the clubhouse and facilities. In addition, Equestra is a pet friendly community.

About Equestra

Centex Homes built 483 luxury homes between 2007 and 2018 in Equestra, which is a gated community. Twelve different models were offered, while the sizes ranging from 1,453 sq ft to over 3,000 sq ft. Since new construction is complete, any available homes are resales. All are single family homes, with either 2 or 3 bedrooms, 9′ (or higher) ceilings, a 2 car garage and these homes are designed with low maintenance exteriors. In order to give a feeling of elegance to your new home, you’ll find open floor plans, granite counter tops, decorative moldings and raised 6 panel doors. Since high efficiency furnaces are standard in these homes, utility costs should be reasonable.

The Equestra Clubhouse

Equestra’s 18,000+ square foot clubhouse is the social center of the community. When moving to Equestra, this is the place to go in order to meet your new neighbors and make new friends. In addition to a  state-of-the-art exercise facility, library, card rooms, and a bar and lounge area are available for your use. And, no matter what the weather is like, you can swim in either the indoor or the outdoor pool. Additionally, there is a walking trail through the nature preserve in Equestra. Getting involved in the clubs and activities will keep you occupied, while nearby you can enjoy fishing, boating, golf and much more.

Transportation

Monmouth County offers transportation services all Adult Communities in Monmouth Count . A bus service stops in each community to provide transport to local shopping centers such as malls and supermarkets. FuUrthermore, there is no charge for this scheduled service. Also, a medical transport bus that will take people to any medical facility or doctor’s office in Monmouth County. However, these trips must be scheduled a few days in advance. Also, there is a minimal charge for this service.

If you need to go to New York either to work or to play, this is a convenient location. That’s because it’s near the Garden State Parkway. Also, rail service is available nearby in Manasquan. Furthermore, major roadways are nearby, providing easy access to, well, everything!

Recreation, Shopping and Entertainment

If you’re a golfer, you’ll will appreciate the fact that Monmouth County has eight public golf courses. Additionally there are many country clubs you can join if that’s what you desire. Monmouth County also has many public parks which offer hiking, camping, bicycle trails and much more. My favorite is the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell, which has a 5 mile bicycle / hiking path around the reservoir.

Tour one of the many wineries in Monmouth County. Other local attractions include nearby Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. For a great evening, listen to the free concerts featuring top local bands in Freehold and Brick. Or visit the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank for plays, musical, concerts and more.

Equestra is within 30 minutes of three major malls, and along Routes 9 and 35 you’ll find shopping centers galore. Furthermore, almost every major retailer is represented in the area, including Costco, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

Additionally, plenty of good seafood restaurants are nearby due to Equestra’s location near the Jersey Shore.

Medical Services

Nearby to Equestra you’ll find Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Medical practices abound in the area. In addition, Monmouth County provides a non-emergency medical transport service which  will take senior citizens to any medical facility in the county. However, use of this low cost service requires advance reservations.
