Summer is over. The weather is getting colder, the leaves are turning and the holidays are almost upon us. I can almost taste the Thanksgiving turkey already. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s a sin that we usually only get a full turkey dinner once per year. So, Bunny and I did something about that. Each year, We have “Thanksgiving in July”. We have the whole family over, we swim, turn the air conditioning nice and cold, and have a second full turkey dinner. But let’s get back on the subject, which is – is this a good time to buy a home?
As I said, summer is over. Most people want to start the new school year for their kids in the new school system. Since most people want to move in the summer, most of them are no longer looking for a home. This means that there is less competition searching for the same home as you are.
Many of the home sellers who have not yet sold, are getting antsy. Their home did not sell over the summer. And, although the asking prices remain the same, the actual sale prices in fall are less, according to many surveys. How much less? It can be between 2% to 2.6%. And on a $400,000 house, that can be a significant amount.
We’ll be right back after a word from our sponsors, Bunny and Art Reiman – Realtors. Begin your search for a new home by visiting our web sites www.BunnyandArt.com www.55PlusInOcean.com www.55PlusinMonmouth.com. Or you can call us at 732-598-7700. Or if you are interested in selling, let us explain how our Internet Marketing System can get your home sold quickly.
To continue.
The sale prices of homes are at the lowest point of the year, and they are projected to rise in 2018. Interest rates are still very low, and will probably rise also. There is still a good supply of homes available for sale. And there are fewer buyers in the market to compete against. This sounds to me like Fall is a great time to buy.
