Look Up!
Here’s something that adds some detail and elegance to your home, and doesn’t cost a lot.
Crown molding. You can mitre the corners or use corner blocks. If your trim is painted, it’s a lot easier to do this than if you have stained molding. Stained molding requires you to be a bit more concise with your cuts, whereas with painted molding, a bit of caulk can hide a lot of errors. Corner blocks can make the job a lot easier, all you need to be able to do is measure and cut the molding straight.
Either stain or paint the molding before installation. Touch up the nail holes with either caulk or wood putty, then touch up paint or stain.
Formal rooms such as living and dining areas, lower floor hallways, kitchen and the master bedroom are candidates for crown molding.
Adding The Crowning Touch will add a feeling of luxury and make your home stand out when the prospective buyers come to see your home.
